New plans have been tabled for the former Matalan store on Southampton Road.
A recent application on Wiltshire Council's planning portal shows the closed Matalan will change use to either builders merchant (sui generis) or Class B8 (self storage).
The shop closed earlier this year, after the news was confirmed by the Journal in April.
The owners of the unit, Freeholdco, says no construction is needed, and that the proposal is "considered to accord with planning policy and there are no material considertations which would indicate that planning permission should not be granted".

According to documents included in the application, Matalan's lease ran out at the site, forcing them to vacate the almost 3,000sqm property.
A transport statement for the application says the impact on the highway network would be 'imperceivable' during rush-hour.
