The victim of a late-evening crash has been hospitalised with major life-threatening injuries and another man arrested on dangerous and drug driving charges.
Emergency services were called to the A360 at Church Street, shortly before 10.30pm last night, following a crash between a car and a motorbike.
The motorbike rider, a young man in his 20s, was taken to Southmead Hospital, in Bristol, with life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested the driver of the car, a 21 year old man, on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and drug driving.
The driver has since been bailed whist further enquires are being carried out.
The road remains closed at the B3098 junction of West Lavington and A360 Gore Cross while investigators carry out enquiries at the scene.
