South Wilts Mencap held its second fun run at Churchill Gardens for the learning-disabled community of South Wiltshire.
The run took place on Saturday, September 14 and enjoyed favourable weather as beneficiaries, support staff, parents and carers “ran, walked, wheeled and scooted” their way around the park.
The Sarum Sisters provided the course marshals, and very enthusiastic support to encourage the participants to complete the course.
South Wilts Mencap said the event marked the successful completion of a fitness programme provided at Salisbury athletics track by the team from Wiltshire Disability Sports and would like to say a big thank you to Katie and Rob who also kicked off the event with a Zumba inspired warm up session.
Everyone received a medal, a goody bag and refreshments in the Salisbury Sea Cadets Hall at the conclusion of the run and all agreed it was a very successful and uplifting afternoon.
