A BUNGALOW fire sparked a huge emergency response and caused a road to be closed.

Fire crews from Fordingbridge, Ringwood, St Mary's and across Dorset and Wiltshire rushed to Hale Road, Woodgreen, at 6.35pm on Monday night, September 9.

The first floor of a chalet bungalow was on fire and the residents had been evacuated.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reel jets, a 45mm jet and the aerial ladder platform to tackle the blaze.

Once the fire was out, crews carried out community safety visits in the local area.

They returned later that night to conduct a reinspection and checked for remaining hotspots.
