RESIDENTS of Shipton Bellinger are being invited to an update meeting for a campaign to reopen a village pub.
The meeting will be held at Shipton Bellinger Sports and Social Club, and will be giving information about the Shipton Needs A Pub (SNAP) campaign.
The evening will also mark the official introduction of Shipton Community Pub Limited, a newly formed community benefit society.
The campaign aims to raise the funds needed to purchase and reopen The Boot Inn in the High Street, which closed in 2022 after 26 years.
A second application to convert the pub into homes was rejected by Test Valley borough council.
The owners of the establishment, Lee and Sally Turland, submitted a proposal in 2023 to convert the pub into a house after failing to find a buyer during six months on the market.
SNAP campaigners are hoping that, if the pub can be reopened, it can be turned into a community hub.
The SNAP meeting will take place at the sports and social club on Wednesday, September 11 at 7.30pm.
