A MAN has been fined hundreds of pounds for driving with illegal tyres.

Manik Sundhir, 22, of Thorne Road in Swindon, was driving along the A303 between Longbarrow Roundabout and Stonehenge roundabout on October 3 when he was stopped by police.

Officers inspected Sundhir's Honda Civic and found cord exposed on both his front tyres.

The legal minimum tyre tread depth is no less than 1.6mm in a non-interrupted band covering at least 75 per cent of each tyre.
