A WILTSHIRE woman has received a coveted award for those working in the care industry.
Lisa Calvert, who works at The Cedars Care Home in Landford has been crowned Home Administrator of the Year for the South Division in the Barchester Care Awards 2024 and is through to the national round of judging.
The Barchester Care Awards celebrate the staff who go the extra mile for the benefit of the 13,000 residents living in Barchester’s 261 care homes and private hospitals across the country. Categories range from "Registered Nurse of the Year" and "Carer of the Year" to "Dementia Care Champion" and "Activities Coordinator of the Year".
More than 5,000 nominations were received from homes and hospitals across the UK. All entries were a very high standard and Lisa is over the moon to have been named the winner for the South division beating hundreds of other nominees.
Lisa said: “I am honoured and extremely pleased to be awarded this as I feel that I put my 100 per cent into everything I do. Thank you to all my colleagues who voted for me. I couldn’t have done it without you all. I hope to continue to thrive in a role which I thoroughly enjoy and I am passionate about doing.”
As the winner for South division, Lisa is through to the national finals in which the overall winner is decided. They will join winners from across the UK at a special awards event in October to celebrate their outstanding achievements and discover if they have won a national award.
General Manager Anish Abraham said: “This is an amazing achievement and the whole home is supporting Lisa. We are so proud of her. Lisa has shown outstanding commitment and enthusiasm in her role. She has supported staff, residents and their families. Nothing is too much trouble. Good luck for the next round Lisa.”
