Sporting spirits were high at Salisbury Manor care home as it staged an Olympics-style sporting tournament for a retired PE teacher and other residents.
The event happened after staff discovered Alan Rodgers, 87, a former teacher at what's now Sarum Academy, missed his active days.
The team at the Shapland Close care home, given Alan's love for tennis, decked the place with tennis-themed decorations and organised a competition that he coached.
Onlookers enjoyed strawberries, cream and Pimms with Olympic-style medals for winners.
Salisbury Manor offers facilities for hobby and leisure activities, promoting independent, active lives among residents.
Paula Hayes, a member of the care team at the home said: "I attended the school whilst Alan was a teacher there.
"He was one of the most understanding and kindest teachers, if you weren’t keen on a certain sport, he would find something you did like, even trampolining. He would always make things fun and include everyone."
Skye Williams, General Manager at Salisbury Manor, said: "Everyone had a great afternoon taking part in the games and listening to Alan share his favourite tennis memories.
"We always like to go the extra mile here at Salisbury Manor to ensure residents can continue to enjoy their hobbies and celebrate their past accomplishments."
