A ROW of dead hares were left outside for all to see in a village near Salisbury.
Porton residents reported seeing six adult hares and a leveret lined up on a patch of grass at Buller Park Drive on Sunday morning, August 11.
Wiltshire Police officers attended the site but could not identify how and when the animals were dumped due to "a lack of evidence".
The rural crime team has been made aware of the incident and will be carrying out extra patrols in the area.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "All incidents of suspicious activity should be reported to the appropriate authority as soon as possible.
"If you can, make a note of any vehicle details and a description of the people involved.
"If you think an offence has or is about to be committed, let us know."

News of the animals being found dead was spread on a local social media page where someone commented: "How incredibly sad to see hares killed and dumped. I believe they only have one leveret a year."
Another responded to the social media post with: "Coursing by the sounds of it. Not cool!"
