I saw your headline revealing “horror“ at the redevelopment into flats of the old Woolworths building on the High Street.
I think it’s brilliant, as we cannot go on looking into empty shops. These properties could make lovely homes.

We have to accept online shopping and grocery super stores are here to stay.
We desperately need housing in all our cities and not only will this restore a “lively community” to frequent the many coffee shops and restaurants, but better still, reduce cars and thru traffic.
My only worry is the large speculative construction companies will get hold of these properties and charge expensive prices once renovated and too many will become second homes.
