Wiltshire's motorists will have 25 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And nine of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

  • M4, from 11.59pm April 27 2021 to midnight, July 31 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 17 to 16 eastbound, 24hr hard shoulder closure for carriageway defect repair.
  • A36, from 7am July 22 to 3pm August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 South Newton, traffic lights installed by Chevron to rebuild a wall (third party work).
  • M4, from 8pm July 1 to 6am August 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 17 exit slip, lane closure for local authority works.
  • A36, from 8pm January 2 to 5am December 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Both Directions Beckington to Ower mobile lane closures for drainage.

And a further 21 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

  • M4, from 9am July 29 to 4pm August 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 16 to 15, hard shoulder closure for horticultural works.
  • A303, from 7pm July 29 to 6am August 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 eastbound, Longbarrow to Countess roundabout closed for carriageway repairs. Diversion for eastbound, closure via A360, B3086, The Packway, A345.
  • M4, from 8pm July 29 to 6am July 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 14 to junction 15, Lane closure for technology work.
  • A303, from 8pm July 29 to 5am July 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 Cow Drove junction, multiway traffic lights for electrical works.
  • M4, from 8pm July 29 to 6am August 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 17 to 18, lane closure for carriageway repairs.
  • A303, from 7pm July 30 to 6am August 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 westbound, Countess to Longbarrow roundabout closed for carriageway repairs. Diversion via A345, The Packway, B3086 and A360.
  • M4, from 10pm July 30 to 6am July 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 18 to junction 17 - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.
  • A36, from 8pm July 31 to 6am August 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Salisbury, lane closure on St Marks Roundabout and approaches for traffic signal repairs.
  • M4, from 9pm August 1 to 6am August 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 both directions, junction 15 to 22 - mobile lane closure for sweeping and drainage works.
  • A303, from 6pm August 3 to 9am August 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 westbound, Countess to Longbarrow roundabout closed for carriageway repairs. Diversion via A345, The Packway, B3086 and A360.
  • A303, from 6pm August 3 to 9am August 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 eastbound, Longbarrow to Countess roundabout closed for carriageway repairs. Diversion for eastbound, closure via A360, B3086, The Packway, A345.
  • A36, from 9.30am to 5pm on August 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 South Newton, traffic lights installed by Wessex Water.
  • A303, from 8pm August 5 to 6am August 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, Winterbourne Stoke to Deptford, lane closure for barrier works.
  • M4, from 9pm August 6 to 6am August 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 17 to 18, lane closures for carriageway repairs.
  • M4, from 9pm August 6 to 6am August 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 17 to junction 18 carriageway closure, for electrical works, diversion via A350, A420, A46 and re-join, junction 18 M4. Follow Solid Diamond.
  • M4, from 9pm August 7 to 6am August 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 16 lane closures for electrical works.
  • A303, from 7pm August 8 to 6am August 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 eastbound, Countess roundabout to Parkhouse closed for carriageway repairs. Diversion via A345, Portway and A338 to Parkhouse. Diversion for A3028 via A3028, A345 Countess roundabout to follow the main diversion.
  • M4, from 9pm August 8 to 6am August 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 17 to 18, lane closures for carriageway repairs.
  • A36, from 8pm August 12 to 6am August 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A36 Both directions Beckington to Warminster Services, two-way convoy traffic lights for technology replacements.
  • A419, from 8pm August 12 to 6am August 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 15 to junction 14, carriageway closure for electrical work.
  • A303, from 9pm August 12 to 6am August 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A36 both directions Deptford to Wilton roundabout closed for carriageway repairs, diversion via A303, A360 to St. Pauls roundabout and vice versa.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
