I have to applaud the new government's choice to scrap the Stonehenge tunnel project, it was a terrific white elephant in the making (or birthing).

The clear fact that whilst most progressive European countries are making sound environmental choices about road policy, we had a previous government who was quite prepared to fork out billions of pounds to satisfy the vision (or revenue) of English Heritage and in part, the national trust.
Billions that now can be spent on answering the clamouring need for our NHS to be saved or our railways to be nationalised so people popping down to their second homes in Cornwall have a viable green option?
