A campsite in Ringwood has been featured among the top 150 outstanding sites in the UK for 2024.

The annual list from Campsites.co.uk named Fernwood Glamping in its 2024 iteration.

Discussing the list, the publication wrote: "Our annual Outstanding Sites list highlights 150 camping, glamping, and touring sites across the UK for 2024, celebrating those who offer their campers a reliably great holiday.

"From eco forest hideaways to family-friendly holiday parks and luxury glamping, these hand-picked sites are a combined list of our award winners and other sites we rate highly for a consistently excellent experience onsite."

It is situated in the "picturesque New Forest National Park" where you can pick between shepherd's huts and a gypsy caravan for your stay.

The profile adds: "Snuggled into a woodland area or overlooking the field where deer and rabbits are frequently seen, it is hard to believe you are only minutes from the friendly market town of Ringwood. Easy access to the A31 will take you to beaches, Poole, and more!"

Spaced over 25 metres apart, the shepherd's hut and gypsy van are "perfect for two" and will also sleep two young children.

It adds: "Each unit has a small wood burner, which will have you toasty warm in a few minutes and keep you cosy even after you let it die down. A basket of wood is provided for you to use with the wood burner indoors."

One reviewer wrote: "A lovely romantic setting excellent facilities. Run by a wonderful couple who look after all your needs."

"Spent a lovely evening sat by the fire pit. Lovely garden - spotted some deer in the adjacent field one evening. Lots to do in the area and plenty of amenities nearby (Tesco Express, pubs). Would definitely go back!"
