A MAN has appeared in court for carrying an axe in a public place.
Paul Cooper, of Augustus Avenue, Fordingbridge, was found guilty of possessing a sharp pointed article in a public place following a trial at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, July 23.
The 28-year-old was caught with an axe in Burnt House Lane, Bransgore, on January 15 last year.
Cooper was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge.
Magistrates also ordered for £310 in court costs and a £26 surcharge to fund victim services to be deducted from his benefits.
