Lode Hill in Downton is to close today as roadworks that concluded last week were left unfinished.
Wiltshire Council has confirmed that the road is to be closed for just one day, between 9.30am - 3.30pm.
Unlike the previous closures, no bus replacement service from Redlynch, Morgan's Vale and Woodfalls will be offered today, and the 44 bus will terminate at Moot Lane.
The works took place on Lode Hill from Monday, June 17 - Friday, July 12 between 9am – 3pm, with the road open out of these hours and over weekends.
Works taking place are to upgrade the traffic lights and road markings.

Cabinet member for Highways cllr Nick Holder said: “The one-day temporary road closure at Lode Hill in Downton is part of our ongoing works to upgrade the traffic lights and road markings. There is a problem with the detection system within the newly installed traffic lights and the poor weather has delayed the works to complete the virtual footway and road markings.
“A road closure is required to create a safe working environment and the works will be completed today, between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a bus replacement service at this time, and the current service will terminate at Moot Lane.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works, but it's our priority to ensure that residents can travel around safely.”
