Gale Louw is a carer and activities coordinator at Milford House Care Home in Salisbury. She has been selected for her achievements in improving the lives of an individual or group of people through her helpfulness, compassion, and support.

The station received hundreds of nominations across 8 categories and from there a panel of independent judges selected the 4 finalists for each category.

The selection process involved a visit from Graham Rogers of BBC Radio Wiltshire, who conducted an interview with Gale, which will go on the radio in August. He also filmed a short video to be shown at the awards ceremony.

Gale said: "This was such a huge surprise and it took me a while to process what Graham was telling me about the nomination when he rang to tell me the news. I am so grateful to everyone who nominated me and I am now looking forward to the ceremony in September.”

The General Manager, Aga Musial, said: "This is such a great achievement and very well deserved and we are so delighted that what Gale does has been recognised by the wider community, and of course we will all be rooting for Gale on the night."

A team from the home, along with Gale, will be attending the awards ceremony which will happen on Saturday, September 7.
