PLANS to convert a high street fashion store into more than 50 apartments will be proposed to the city council next week.
Development consultancy company Dalmore Land has announced its interest in converting New Look, at 22-30 High Street, into a large housing block.
Director Kevin Mackenzie will present a redevelopment scheme for the store at a Salisbury City Council planning and development committee meeting on Monday, July 22.
Mr Mackenzie wants to turn New Look into 52 apartments and houses together with a small retail unit fronting the High Street.
No background papers have been prepared in advance of the meeting and no planning application has been submitted yet, however Mr Mackenzie is expected to share further details on his intentions for the site.
The scheme is listed as 11th on the meeting agenda which also includes a new premises licence for News Cafe, in New Canal, plans to build a pump track in Bemerton Heath and discussion about the usual residential planning applications.
City councillors will gather at the Guildhall from 6.30pm and the meeting, which members of the public are welcome to attend, is expected to finish at 9pm.
