The Harnam Harvest Table kicks off this weekend.
Residents can look forward to the return of this much-loved summer event, beginning at 10am on July 20 at the Parish Hall Field, Lower Street, Harnham.
Now in its fifth season, the table will be out every Saturday morning until early October.
Providing an opportunity for gardeners and allotment holders to donate surplus fruit and vegetables, the Harnham Harvest Table has proven to be a hit.
Rather than discarding the excess, residents can instead contribute their home-grown produce.
Those who would benefit from receiving fresh produce can collect it from the stall.
In previous years, recipes were provided, giving guidance on how to prepare the season's fruit and veg.
Now, not only a resource for fresh food, the event has become a staple for social interaction.
The last season saw a hefty 1½ tons of produce donated which might otherwise have been wasted.
Any remaining produce is given to organisations like the Salisbury Pantry.
Alongside the weekly event, the Harnam Community Network occasionally operates 'pop-up tables' that also accept excess gardening tools, plants, and even Christmas decorations.
Location details are available weekly via the Harnam Community Network.
Everyone is welcome to join.
