A MAN on a mission to bring a "real pharmacy community" back to Wilton has opened his first independent clinic.
David Adom, 47, worked at Boots in Amesbury from 2011 until 2018 where he dealt with the Novichok poisonings before bringing his experience to Andover, where he lives.
His latest venture, Solomon's Pharmacy, replaced Lloyds Pharmacy at 3 North Street in Wilton on June 1 and had its grand opening with Councillor Alan Crossley, Mayor of Wilton, officially opening the pharmacy on Thursday, July 11.
Mr Adom's career began with a rocky start after his brother Solomon died during his first year of study in 2004 and he "wanted to leave everything".
"I thought that was the end," said Mr Adom.

But Mr Adom persevered with his studies, qualified as a pharmacist and carried Solomon's love with him through all the pain - a promise he made to himself "whatever happened".
"I have passion for my patients. Delivering on the pharmacy mission is something I admire and I hope it's something I can bring to the community," he said.
This passion carried Mr Adom through the pandemic and into his own independent Wilton pharmacy which he is excited to run after spending his entire career in corporate health care.
He said: "Working for my own pharmacy, knowing I'm doing it for myself and directing the company where I want it to be is massive."
Currently employing five members of staff, Solomon's Pharmacy offers home deliveries, a travel clinic, free blood pressure checks for anyone over the age of 40, STD checks and more.
Free emergency contraception for anyone aged 13 to 24 years is a new initiative brought in by Mr Adom.
Lloyds Pharmacy was heavily criticised online by customers, scoring an average of 1.7/5 in 31 Google reviews.
Local guide Charlotte Roberts-Barr branded the old pharmacy "dreadful" and expected "far better" as she was refused entry between 1pm and 2pm.
Another local guide, Chris Hamilton, complained about an "awful service with awful staff".
Reassuringly, Solomon's Pharmacy has been met with praise on social media since it replaced Lloyds with many people acknowledging a "huge improvement".

One user said: "He sorted me out in a few minutes and prescribed antibiotics which dealt with my chest infection, whilst informing my GP of his actions. What an asset."
Wiltshire Cllr Pauline Church commented: "Completely agree - so helpful and informative".
Solomon's Pharmacy opens from 9am until 6pm weekdays and 9pm until 5pm on Saturday.
