Families will be able to get hands-on at Stonehenge thanks to new archaeology activities and a family trail.
During summer, English Heritage is hosting the Stonehenge Kids’ Dig family activity and ‘Where’s My Shadow’ quest every day, giving everyone the opportunity to explore Stonehenge in a fun, hands-on way.
Young budding archaeologists are invited to try their hand at unearthing the past, with children getting the chance to learn more about the history of Stonehenge through the artefacts left behind.

‘Dig supervisors’ will be on hand to reveal the stories behind the pottery, tools, and treasures, explaining their place in the story of Stonehenge.
Richard Dewdney, Head of Historic Properties for Stonehenge said, “There’s always more to discover at Stonehenge, and we hope that lots of families will come along and get involved.”
Stonehenge is open from 9:30am -7.00pm throughout the summer with last admissions at 5pm. The Stonehenge Kids’ Dig activity runs between 20 July and 1 September from 10am - 6pm daily and is suitable for children aged 5 and upwards to enjoy.
