After a hugely successful year supporting the community the rotary club of Wilton began its 46th year on Monday, July 1 with five new members from the local community.
Two others are also expected to be joining the club soon.
Over the past year the club has seen huge growth in membership of almost 50 per cent, fundraising from events leading to contributions to the community exceeding £60,000 as well as treating senior citizens to the panto, helping with Christmas activities, lunches for the homeless, supporting the Stars Appeal, Salisbury Hospice Charity, Wilton RDA and many others through a team of people dedicated to giving their time to help others.
At Mondays meeting Club president Andy Rhind-Tutt welcomed Molly Cook of the Hair Extension Cave, Alex Brown from Salisbury Hospice Charity, Angie Dooling of Stetfords, James Foreman from Salisbury NHS Trust and the Mayor of Wilton Alan Crossley to the club.
He also mentioned corporate members Oliver Chandler and D&N Construction.
The club also has a large number of friends and business partners who also lend a hand such as Wilton House, Salisbury Journal, Reeve the Baker, The White Hart Hotel, Shipsey’s, Grist Environmental, Rob Beale, MJ Abbott, Amesbury Filling Station. A1 Roadcraft, Spencer Mullholland, Andrew Williams, Blue Lane Holdings and the Veterans Centre.
Wilton Rotary Club will be at Wilton Carnival on July 6 and will be marshalling the Walk for Wards on Sunday, July 7.
