A PRIMARY school and nursery has received a certificate after being given a national award.
Pembroke Park, part of Magna Learning Partnership (MLP) Trust, has received a certificate of excellence from the Pearson National “Primary School of the Year” awards.
The certificate celebrates the school’s inclusive approach with pupils achieving well against the odds, and for making a positive contribution to its community.

The award recognises that the academy has overcome challenges to create a place where pupils, parents and the community feel pride and how leaders work with key partners to enrich the lives of children at the school.
The Pearson National Teaching Awards are an annual celebration of education, recognising the work of teaching communities across the UK. 16 awards categories cover the primary, secondary and further education sectors and are open to schools and colleges in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
A spokesperson for Pembroke Park said: "Pembroke Park provides an education for all with support for children with additional needs to challenge and extra opportunities, such as tutoring and Able and Gifted courses, for high-attaining pupils.

"The curriculum is enriched with a wide range of opportunities, such as trips to the theatre, forest school, visiting speakers and regular competitive sports opportunities.
"Working closely with agencies such as the local food bank, elderly residential home and The Bridge Project, children are provided opportunities to develop their leadership qualities and support their local community.
"Visitors always comment on the calm and welcoming atmosphere at the school and the community was delighted that the standard of education children receive was recognised recently by Ofsted."
