Where do you go for a night of dancing if you’re a ‘grown up’? Too old to go clubbing, but still love to dance? If this is you then you might be interested in Discos for Grown Ups – a pop-up event coming to the O2 Academy in Bournemouth next month.
It's a feel-good night, where you can dance with people your own age to the best mix of 70s Disco, 80s Pop and 90s dance floor classics.
Founded by ex-record industry executive Simon Stanford - after being frustrated there was nowhere suitable to go as a ‘grown up’ for a great night of dancing to the music he loved - Discos For Grown Ups has been selling out venues and lighting up dancefloors since it’s pandemic beginnings, as a weekly online disco during Lockdown.
Following more than 100 sold out live shows last year and a huge party at London’s indigo at The O2 in April 2024, Discos for Grown Ups is bringing this unrivalled and unique night to the O2 Academy, Bournemouth on Friday, July 19. With doors opening at 7pm (curfew at 11.30pm), you can expect to hear the likes of, ABBA, Shalamar, The Human League, CHIC, Black Box, Dead Or Alive, Sister Sledge, Wham, Erasure, Faithless, Blondie, Madonna and more.
