Building on the success of last Summer’s events across the city, the city council are reaching out to groups willing to take part in its We Love Where We Live Funday.
Salisbury City Council Communities Team are appealing for groups to get in contact to take part in the scheme in 2024.
For many years Salisbury City Council’s free fun days have been a staple in the summer calendars at Bishopdown Sports Field, Pinewood Green in Bemerton, Harnham Parish Hall and The Friary Estate.

These events have always been about providing a fun day out for the community and a chance to get together. In 2023 these events included more local input than ever before.
With plans well underway for 2024 there are still a number of community stands and spaces available at each event. These are for people and groups who are already part of the reason that people love where they live, or who are hoping to set something up that will make it even better.
In the past events have had local craft groups sharing their skills with others, local history displays and local nurseries providing storytelling.
The council are looking to hear from those who live in or are actively connected to the specific community around each funday, to help highlight all of the people and work that are the true community assets across the city.
Spaces will be offered on a first come first served basis, as long as the group or activity isn’t duplicating something already on offer.

Head of Community Services at Salisbury City Council, Sarah Gregson, said: "Our team loves running the fundays each summer, and over the last few years the community involvement in these events has grown and grown, making them better and better.
"However, we can always make new connections and help more people to share the positive things that make where they live a great place to be.
"It is sometimes right to focus on problems that need solving, but our work brings us into contact with all the people in the city taking positive actions and often doing incredible things! Help us to celebrate that at these events this summer. Get in touch!"
