A former England rugby player and armed forces veteran is completing trek to Stonehenge to raise funds for the world’s largest landmine clearance charity.
On Friday, June 21, Andy Dawling will take on a 10 mile walk to Stonehenge from The Ship at Upavon to raise money for Halo's humanitarian demining work in Kosovo – where Andy was stationed during his time as a paratrooper.

The date marks the 25th anniversary of the deaths of Andy’s two comrades, Lieutenant Gareth Evans and Sgt Balaram Rai, and three Kosovar locals, Osman Krasniqi, Sami Gashi, and Milaim Gashiand, who were clearing a school site of landmines and the debris of war to ensure the safety of returning refugees.
“I'm doing it to see if I can raise a bit of money to help the locals in Kosovo.
“I was blown away – they are still removing debris from 25 years ago. You’re moving the same which was left there at end of the war.”
“I understood the work Halo are doing and how impactful it is. It really resonated with me.”
The trek will be a part of the ex-rugby player’s "wolf pack pilgrimage", in which he is trekking across the UK.
