The reaction that I had when I first saw the pile of wood stacked up in front of the the Cathedral was that The Close had been visited by fly-tippers.
When the many thousands of tourists entering The Close from the high street for the first time they get that WOW factor on seeing this iconic building, they want to take photographs.
But not now.
Their visit might be the only one that they will ever make to our city.
Fortunately Mr Wrigley (last weeks letter on this subject) and myself can return at a later date when the carbuncle has been removed.
The custodians should be more protective.
