The following are scheduled over the upcoming weeks:

Thursday, June 13 - Thursday, June 20: The road between Normandy Way and Bridge Street will be closed 24 hours a day, with works taking place between 7.30am - 6pm each day. On site operatives will control the closure points during 24 hour closures, allowing access when safe to do so.

Monday, June 17 - Saturday, June 22: Another 24 hour road closure will be in place, between the roundabout at the end of Bridge Street and Riverside Junction.

Monday, June 24 - Saturday, June 29: The road between Salisbury Street and Normandy Way will be resurfaced and shut overnight, between 7pm - 6am.

Monday, July 1 - Friday, July 12: Gully and manhole covers to be renewed and strengthened between Salisbury Street and Normandy Way. The road will be closed between 7pm - 6am.

Pedestrian access will be available throughout the works and any changes will be displayed on yellow road signs.

During periods when Salisbury Street and the High Street are both closed, traffic from Godshill will be diverted south along Ringwood Road past the Recreation Ground.

This will allow residents of West Street etc. to drive along Shaftesbury Street to Normandy Way. When the resurfacing works are done at night, the road will be fully closed.

Access to the car park at Roundhill from Salisbury Street will remain open at all times.

From June 17 - 22 and overnight June 24 - 26, the X3 bus stops at The Rec, Hillwoods, and the Post Office / Caxtons will NOT be served.

A Hampshire County Council spokesperson said: “The County Council is currently undertaking resurfacing work on Fordingbridge High Street.

"Kerb replacements outside the Fire Station and Normandy Way have been completed and we are now progressing the second phase between Normandy Way and Bridge Street, which includes further kerbing replacement, removal of the block paving in the carriageway and drainage cleansing.

"The remaining work along this stretch of road is due to be carried out in the coming weeks. We currently expect the maintenance scheme to complete by mid-July.”
