The New Forest Association will present an illustrated talk at Avonway Community Centre in Fordingbridge.
The talk, which was announced by the Fordingbridge Museum, is to be presented by Dr Gale Pettifer on June 14.
The presentation will delve into different aspects of the New Forest including its history, landscape, wildlife, work, and the people behind it, with a portion addressing future conservation efforts.
Tickets, selling at £10, will be available at Fordingbridge Bookshop, Fordingbridge Museum, or online, with light refreshments included.
The event kicks off at 7.30pm.
Jon Ingham, chairman of the Friends of Fordingbridge Museum, said: "The talk is aimed at people who love the Forest and would like to know more about it. It will also be of great interest to newcomers to the area who might like to learn about the great national asset that we have on our doorstep."
