Plans are being drawn up to create 47 new retirement apartments on Fisherton Street.
Churchill Retirement Living are preparing a planning application for a new independent retirement living development in Salisbury.
The proposal seeks to redevelop vacant brownfield land at 30-36 Fisherton Street in Salisbury City Centre, regenerating the site to create 47 retirement apartments, alongside commercial units on the ground floor which will open onto Malthouse Lane and Fisherton Street.
The apartments will be for over 60s who want to maintain freedom and independence as they get older whilst being part of a retirement living community.

Apartment Owners would have the benefits of security with a lodge manager, a 24-hour careline system, owners’ Lounge, and a guest suite for visiting friends and family.
A Churchill Retirement Living spokesperson said: "Our vision is to deliver a mixed-use development, providing apartments for the over 60s as well as three new retail units on the ground floor which will open onto Malthouse Lane and Fisherton Street.
"Retirement housing is the most effective form of residential development for generating local economic growth, supporting local jobs, and increasing high street spend as it brings regular shoppers closer to the town centre.
“Our plans to regenerate this previously developed site will also help to reduce the need for greenfield development to meet the urgent demand for new homes locally. As we prepare to submit a formal planning application, we are keen to gather feedback and give local people the opportunity to have their say on these exciting plans.”
Churchill Retirement Living emphasised that the proposed development would bring around £365,000 per year of extra spending to the high street. It would also help to generate around £213,000 of savings each year for local health and social care services by enabling older people to enjoy a healthier and more independent lifestyle.
Plans for the development will be available for public viewing through this live consultation link until Sunday, June 9 2024: https://consultwithyou.co.uk/churchill/salisbury
