A PAEDOPHILE saved an indecent photo of a child on a phone he tried to hide from the police less than a month after he was released from prison.
Nigel McDermott, of John Baker House, pleaded guilty to making a category C image of a child at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on Friday, May 24.
The court heard how the 57-year-old had previously been given a lifetime sexual harm prevention order which required him to register all of his electronic devices with the police.
But when officers visited McDermott's home on April 24, 2023, they found a mobile phone he had not told the force about.

Ryan Seneviratne, prosecuting, said: "The police examined it and found the image of a child in an accessible area of the phone.
"The defendant to his credit admitted to seeking photos of children in interview."
McDermott, representing himself, told the court: "I know what I've done."
The court heard how McDermott had been sentenced to three years in prison in April 2020 for facilitating a child sex offence.
Magistrate Sarah Neish adjourned the case until July 11 so that a pre-sentencing report could be prepared.
