Representatives from the Round Canopy Display Team and Airborne Commemorative Jump Team visited the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection in order to prepare for commemorative events in Normandy for D-Day 80.
The two groups will be flying off to France in early June for commemorative paratroop jumps out of historic World War Two aircraft as part of the commemorations in Europe and the UK.
The team packed their parachutes in the hangar on original World War Two parachute packing tables, that were requisitioned from RAF Hullavington and provided for use by the Royal Air Force Survival Equipment Association, who currently have an exhibition room within BDAC.
Both parachute teams were welcomed by BDAC Survival Equipment Manager Mark Jewell on Sunday, May 19, and prior to departure were presented with a batch of Overlord Ale, brewed especially by nearby Dark Revolution Brewery in partnership with the museum.
