This week, a national knife crime campaign, Sceptre, is focusing on education and awareness to reduce knife crime.
As part of the campaign, police officers are conducting "safety sweeps," where they check areas for any hidden weapons.
In Mere and Tisbury, police officers have swept Mere Skate park and recreation grounds and the play parks and recreation ground by the Nadder Centre in Tisbury.
On their Facebook page, they have said: "So far this week multiple knives have been handed to the officers for disposal and local youth groups and schools have been provided knife crime awareness and safety advice."
The campaign has been tagged on social media as #Sceptre.
