The annual Fabulous Family Fun Day raised more than £31,000 for Salisbury Hospice Charity on their 10th anniversary of the event.
Sponsored by Ozweld International, the Fabulous Family Fun Day took place at Salisbury Rugby Club on Saturday, May 11, from midday, raising the most money ever for the charity.
The Fun Day was first organised by Greig Futcher, in memory of his wife Lyn Futcher, who was supported by Salisbury Hospice in 2013.
Salisbury Hospice Charity aims to raise £1.5 million of the £2.9 million in running costs that they require each year. Their services are free, and help nearly 1,000 people every year.
They are the only provider of specialist palliative care in the community, and offer treatment for those with cancer, or long term health conditions like motor neurone disease or heart failure.
The free-to-attend event included a beer festival, live music, street food, football, touch rugby, a raffle and Circus Wessex. New for this year was the addition of a performance arena, featuring Salisbury cheerleading team Phoenix Stars, various dance troupes and a tug of war.
Tamsin Murley, Community Fundraiser for Salisbury Hospice Charity said: “I am once more humbled by how incredibly hard this dedicated committee of Greig, Sarah, Spencer, Sam, Clare and Jason work; they are truly remarkable.
“We are also so very grateful to Ozweld International, Salisbury Rugby Club and everyone who supported us in many different ways to put on this wonderful event.
“To raise £31,000 in one day is a remarkable achievement; every penny raised will go towards funding the vital services that the hospice provides, free of charge, to members of the community.”

The football tournament, sponsored by Jones & Co, was as popular as ever, and the touch rugby tournament, sponsored by Adam’s Autos, was described as competitive from start to finish.
The live music stage offered a variety of performance from local bands and singers, and a day full of entertainment for children, and more family entertainment was provided in the main performance arena, which was sponsored by Complete Construction Ltd.
The raffle offered a chance to win a holiday in Turkey for four people, donated by Beyaz Villas, and proved to be very popular.
Chairman of the fundraising committee, Greig Futcher said: “That’ll do! Brilliant – thank you so much everybody.”
