A person has died after being struck by a train near Warminster, police have confirmed.
Emergency services including an air ambulance were called to scene near Warminster Station at around 7.45pm on Saturday, May 11.
Despite paramedics attending, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “We were called to an area near Warminster station at around 7.45pm on Saturday 11 May following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The ambulance service attended around half an hour later with an air ambulance.
A South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust spokesperson said: “We were called at 20:14hrs on Saturday 11 May to an incident near Warminster.
“We sent an air ambulance, an operations officer, a double-crewed land ambulance and a responding officer to the scene.”
