THE Rotary Club of Ringwood, along with Ringwood Academy School, marked the conclusion of the 11th annual Interschool Photographic Competition earlier this month.
The event, which took place on April 18, witnessed a surge in participation with 24 schools across the South of England competing, resulting in a record-breaking 1158 entries this year. The theme for the competition was "Atmosphere".
Entries were segregated into four categories: Primary, Y7-10, Y11-13, and Adult. The judgment panel included representatives from the Ringwood Academy Art & Photographic Department, the Rotary Club of Ringwood, The Royal Photographic Society, The Arts University Bournemouth, and the New Forest Heritage Museum, Lyndhurst.
Winners from the student categories were awarded tokens for camera accessories, books, and certificates. Additional accolades and prizes were given by the Royal Photographic Society and Arts University Bournemouth's judges, for top-notch photographs.
An independent judge selected the recipient of the Michael Lingam-Willgoss Rotary Club of Ringwood Young Photographer of the Year, with the prize being a camera and accessories kit. Furthermore, the top 50 images from all categories will be exhibited at the New Forest Heritage Museum, Lyndhurst from April 27 till June 7.
