A BUS company is discounting its unlimited travel ticket to encourage driver to leave their cars at home for the day.
Salisbury Reds will offer an all-day Network Explorer ticket for less than half price to anyone using its app on Earth Day, April 22.
This ticket lets passengers travel as far as Bournemouth, Southampton and Swindon for the cost of £4.
The initiative runs alongside the ongoing single journey fare cap - part of the Government’s Help for Households initiative - which caps ticket prices at £2.
Salisbury Reds' head of communications Nikki Horner hopes people will be encouraged to leave their cars at home for the day and catch the bus instead.
She added: "We hope our Earth Day offer encourages more people to take the bus. If we can convert some car users, even for a few journeys, it could make a huge difference to the local environment in the long term, as well as helping ease the area’s congestion issues.”
A recent successful bid for funding means Salisbury Reds will acquire 23 new electric buses in Salisbury in 2026.

Ms Horner said the investment is a way of the company showing it is "committed to helping improve the quality of air we breathe".
“Bus travel has changed beyond recognition over recent years, and those who haven’t travelled with us recently will be amazed at the enhancements we’ve already made," she added.
