A SALISBURY cafe has been again nominated for a prestigious Muddy Stiletto award. 

Muddy Stilettos has revealed its nominees of the best businesses across the UK, with Salisbury independent coffee shop The Salisbury Orangery making the final in the best casual dining in Wiltshire category. 

The Salisbury Orangery opened in April 2021, with a takeaway-only service due to lockdown restrictions.

General Manager, Tash Darg-Forsyth, 24 from Amesbury, said: “It nice to see the business still running as everyone knows in Salisbury it’s quite hit or miss for businesses to last, as you normally get to the two year mark. Especially with rent, its horrendous around here and with the cost of living crisis we have seen a drop in trade when in the winter months which is expected.”

Tash added: "The Salisbury Orangery is lovely to work for because its so small, it worked for other big companies but its really nice to be hands on with the owner, high managers and with the customers as well. We get a really nice regular clientele that come in and you get to know each-other and become part of the community and the team is quite small and unique its like a little friendship group.” 

The stylish café which sells coffee, teas, smoothies along with all day breakfast, and cakes, also sources foods locally from small independent businesses and suppliers.

She added: “It was unexpected to be nominated again, it was a bit of a shock when it came through and even more so to be one of the finalists for this year, myself and everyone on the team is absolutely thrilled about it and just hoping that our customers can rally behind us and push through.

“I don’t even know I could even explain it if we won. It would just be incredible and just such a huge morale boost for the team and to show other people in the surrounding area that we are here, we do get a lot of people still coming in and say I walk down the street all the time and didn’t know you were here. So it would be really nice to get that publicity out there and be a great opportunity for us.”

The Salisbury Orangey, located at 102 Crane Street, were nominated by Muddy Stilettos for ‘best cafe’ back in 2023, but have their hopes on winning this year's award and giving a huge thank you to their customers.
