Diving into the Journal archives this week revealed dozens of pictures from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's royal visit to Salisbury on Thursday, April 11, 1974.
The Queen and Prince Philip visited to Salisbury on Maundy Thursday, to give out the Maundy Money.
The royals were given a very warm welcome by thousands of residents who came out in their droves to catch a glimpse of the special visitors, wave flags and cheer.
Enjoy this selection of photos of our late beloved monarch.
