This year’s Sir Edward Heath Annual Lecture by The Sir Edward Heath Charitable Foundation at Salisbury Cathedral will be hosted by television personality Gyles Brandreth and explore the life and legacy of our late monarch, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The lecture, entitled ‘Queen Elizabeth II: Life, Legacy & Service to Britain’, will be held at 2.15pm on Thursday, May 30 with a line-up of world-class speakers to discuss a 70-year reign.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Gyles Brandreth, television personality and author of ‘Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait’, who will introduce and moderate the event.
- Ailsa Anderson, who served as press secretary to the Queen for twelve years from 2001 to 2013.
- Robert Hardman, Daily Mail writer and author of the biographies ‘Queen of Our Times’ and ‘Charles III’.
- Hugo Vickers, royal commentator and author of ‘Coronation’ (on the 1953 Coronation) and ‘Elizabeth: The Queen Mother’.

The speakers will give their personal appreciation of the Queen, both as an individual and as our national leader, and assess the challenges, achievements and legacy of her reign, as well as exploring her constitutional role in Britain and the Commonwealth, and the future of the monarchy.
Gyles said: “Our fabulous panel will reflect upon a truly great Briton and the important chapter she represented in our national life.”
Ticket options include a drinks reception at Arundells after the lecture which offers an opportunity to socialise and meet the speakers.
Tickets for the lecture only cost £25 per person while tickets with access to the following drink reception included cost £32 per person.
