New studies have named Old Sarum one of the best cost-effective activities in England.
The study, conducted by the outdoor experts at GO Outdoors, looked at factors including cost, the number of Google searches of the destinations, the average Google rating and the number of Instagram posts to reveal the top 10 best cost-effective activities.
Bramall Hall is the best cost-effective attraction in England with a score of 9.191.
The black and white authentic timber-framed Tudor manor house is set amidst 70 acres of parkland and costs as little as £13 for a family of four to visit, especially as children under 16 go free.
In second place is Cambridge University Botanic Garden, scoring 9.050. The spot is free for under 16s and boasts more than 8,000 plant species.
Old Sarum takes third place, with a score of 8.876.
Visiting the landmark costs £14.90 for a family of two adults and up to three children, and scores a Google rating of 4.5/5.
The study also found that Eryri has been crowned the best free activity in Wales, scoring 9.690 out of 10.
Surrounded by towering peaks and magnificent valleys, the national park receives nearly four million visitors every year, making it a top destination for exploring the great outdoors, a day out with the family or even for overnight camping.
