Damerham and District Horticultural Society held its Spring Show at Damerham Village Hall on March 23.
A record number of nearly 400 entries filled the Hall with an outstanding display, especially, of Daffodils across all classes.
Flowering shrubs were particularly spectacular with some entries over three feet high!
The Spring theme in the Floral Art was well represented with the theme “Out of the Winter Gloom” and, for men, “Hats Off to Spring”.
Boiled Fruit Cakes and Coffee and Walnut Victoria Sponges were the stars of the food entries; the judge commented that the standard was very high and the attention to detail and presentation was very high.
There were more than sixty five children’s entries from Western Downland School with some magnificent Easter Cards and Miniature Gardens.
Prizes were presented by the Society’s President, Jane Hall.
