AN ATTEMPTED break-in of a petrol station left its owners locked out.
Thieves tried to smash their way into the Texaco garage in Ringwood Road, Verwood on Monday morning, March 18.
Workers were unable to open the shop this morning before police and forensics officers were called to the scene.
A statement from the garage said: “It seems we have had some unwanted guests throughout the night and they have kindly ripped off our lock for our shutters which means we have no access to the store.”
A spokeswoman for the force said: “Dorset Police received a report at 8.07am on Monday 18 March 2024 of an attempted break-in at Central store in Ringwood Road in Verwood.
“Officers attended and carried out an examination of the scene. Enquiries are continuing and no arrests have been made.”
The petrol station was later re-opened on Monday afternoon.
