SCORES of people descended on Salisbury Cathedral for Alabaré's annual Big Sleep.
Every year the homelessness charity asks members of the community to join and raise sponsorship by spending the night sleeping on the cold, hard floor of the Cathedral cloisters to raise vital funds and awareness.
The event, on Friday, March 8, saw hundreds of people show their support.
All the funds raised from the event help Alabaré provide support for homeless people in Salisbury.

On Alabaré's Facebook page, it said: “It’s a wonderful privilege to welcome over 200 fabulous BIG Sleepers tonight at our BIG Sleep Salisbury Cathedral. Local schools, companies, friends and families have all joined us to sleep out for one night to raise vital funds to help end homelessness. Thank you so much to everyone who is here and everyone who has sponsored our BIG Sleepers!!”
The charity provides a range of services in the city, including drop-in support and advice to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, giving them access to food, showers, and help to access accommodation or the further support that they need.
Those who move into Alabaré’s homes are given specialist help to overcome the problems that have led them to become homeless, and training and support so they can successfully rebuild, and move on successfully to the life they choose.
