SIXTY-THOUSAND litres of water were used to extinguish a fire at a grain silo.
A fire crew from Salisbury was called to the fire at a grain silo in Tytherley Road, Winterslow, at 12.53pm on Wednesday, March 6.
Upon arrival, firefighters got to work formulating a plan to try and extinguish the grain within the seven metre wide silo.

Firefighters used 60,000 litres of water to tackle the blaze, flooding the silo.
This required the watercarrier appliance from Wilton which was in attendance and helped with the operation.
Work continued throughout the afternoon to ensure the fire was fully out and the silo was safe to leave with the owner.
