The Railway Hotel in Fordingbridge has converted the abandoned Breamore Railway Station into rooms for overnight stays.
The station once served for the now defunct London and South Western Railway (L&SWR) line from West Moors to Salisbury. It operated for 98 years, with its last train leaving the station in 1964. The two-mile section of the railway line from Burgate Cross, near Fordingbridge, to South Charford, near Downton, has since been converted into a public footpath.

Breamore Station stood abandoned and neglected for decades but managed to survive until its restoration in the mid-2000s. It has since stood as a landmark on the Breamore Old Railway Line Walk.
Nicky Rudd, who handles marketing for The Railway Hotel, said she was impressed the first time she saw the finished product at Breamore Station.
Nicky said: “Even if you’re not a massive railway fan, they’ve done it beautifully. It’s really, really secluded away. You’re right on the public footpath there, going through one of the walks through the forest. It’s really lovely.”
