A MAN has been ordered to pay more than £400 after he boarded a train without an £11.50 ticket.
Jimmy Blackwell, of Alabare Place in Barnard Street, Salisbury, travelled on a First MTR South Western Trains service to Southampton without paying for a ticket on September 4 last year.
The 44-year-old was caught at Southampton Central Station and he was proven guilty of the offence in his absence at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, February 14.
Blackwell was fined £220 and ordered to pay £180 court costs as well as an £88 surcharge to fund victim services.
He must also pay the original £11.50 in compensation to the travel company, bringing his total owed to £449.50.
