SALISBURY City Council has confirmed a brand-new Gift Fayre will be coming to the Guildhall Square this Christmas.

As reported by the Journal earlier this month, Mynt Image Ltd is currently looking for stallholders to sell their goods inside a modern chalet.

The council has told the Journal that as part of Christmas on the Square in 2024, visitors to Salisbury can expect "a unique shopping experience in the form of a giant, fully festive chalet featuring an array of more than 30 local crafts people offering artisan products that will make the perfect gifts for loved ones this Christmas".

It adds: "The Gift Fayre will be the perfect place to soak up a magical festive atmosphere where visitors can support local makers under shelter, protecting them from the wintery elements.

"There will also be lots of other Christmas activity taking place so as the months draw closer more details will be released."

The Fayre will run every day from Friday, November 22 until Thursday, December 19.

Councillor Sam Charleston, chairman of the events, markets and grants sub-committee said: "The Gift Fayre will be a fantastic new addition to Christmas on the Square this year and I am looking forward to picking up some Christmas gifts whilst supporting our city's amazing local makers.

"If you are a crafts person looking for somewhere to trade this festive season then we would like to hear from you."
