A Wiltshire village has been named one of the most picturesque for couples on Valentine’s Day.
Travel experts from Deal Points have rated the country’s most “Instagrammable” locations as couples search for the perfect backdrop to capture their special moments ahead of Valentine’s Day.
Castle Combe, a Wiltshire village consistently included in lists of the country’s prettiest destinations, has snuck into the top 20 in the rankings, in 19th place.
The study was based on analysis of the total number of hashtags for each place on Instagram, and Castle Combe was the subject of 166,615 hashtags.
The village is a tourist hotspot, an issue that has drawn criticism from both locals and visitors in recent months.
Travel expert Andy Medearis, the founder of Deal Points, said: “Everyone loves going on an adventure, but when it comes to planning something special for Valentine’s Day, people want to go the extra mile for their loved ones.
“Whether that’s because a proposal might be on the cards, or they just want to express how much they love their partner, having the perfect backdrop to commemorate the occasion can make all the difference.
“So finding the most Instagrammable location is something many people might want to know, as what better place to take a photo with your loved ones than in these locations.”
