TWO shoplifters have been arrested after £2,700 worth of items were stolen from businesses.
Around 150 items were seized from a car that was stopped by police.
At around 4pm on Thursday, February, 1, police received reports that three men were shoplifting from businesses on Southampton Road.
Officers arrived on the scene and stopped the vehicle that the suspects were travelling in. The suspects made off on foot and two were arrested on suspicion of theft.
Around 150 items were recovered from the car, thought to have been stolen, amounting to around £2,700.
Police say most of which have now been returned.
A man in his 20s and a man in his 30s have both been released on bail while enquiries continue.
