A NEW CCTV camera has been installed on Fordingbridge High Street.
New Forest District Council says it is part of its commitment to "keeping low crime in rural communities".
It added in a post on Facebook: "The camera was installed as part of a four- week trial using new camera technology. Fordingbridge was selected for the trial as it currently doesn’t have any CCTV cameras.
"Thank you to Fordingbridge Town Council for working with us on this exciting new project.
"We’ll be hosting an event with the town council in the next few weeks to share our findings with the community and answer any questions you may have. Keep an eye on our social media for more details coming soon."
Fordingbruidge Town Council added: "The Town Council are pleased to be working with the New Forest District Council to trial a camera providing CCTV coverage for the town centre.
"This initial trial is part of an ongoing process to assess the viability of having effective CCTV coverage in town in the future."
